Please read and agree to these conditions of Hall Hire before you make a booking
1. If the hall is being hired for a function (such as a party, concert or event), then a non-refundable cleaning fee of $70 and a damage bond of $100 is to be paid prior to hire date. For any other use, the bond may be applied at the discretion of the hall committee.
2. All crockery, utensils, etc are to be washed and returned to the cupboard. All breakages and damages are to be paid for by the hirer.
3. No cooking is permitted within the main body of the hall. All cooking is to be confined to the kitchen. The refrigerator, stove and kitchen are to be left clean.
4. The premises and grounds are to be left tidy and all furniture returned to its correct place. Instructions for handling folding tables must be followed (tables to be wiped clean before returning to storeroom).
5. After inspection of the hall following the function, should no repairs be required or replacement of crockery be needed, then the damage bond will be refunded.
6. If the cleaning fee of $70 has not been charged, then the hirer is responsible for cleaning the hall, including sweeping or mopping the floor if necessary, cleaning the toilets and all paper picked up and removed along with all other garbage from the event. Failure to do so will incur an additional charge.
7. If the hirer is a sporting club, association, corporation or incorporated body then they are responsible for their own public liability insurance and the hirer must provide a certificate of insurance prior to the event. If the hirer is an individual then they are covered by Bellingen Shire Council’s public liability insurance.
8. Any sound system and/or DJ stations are to be kept inside the hall.
9. The hall’s sound system (if used) is to be left in the condition that it was provided. Overloading the speakers or amplifier that causes any damage will require the hirer to repair/replace the damaged parts at the hirer’s cost. Please use alcohol wipes to gently clean the outside of wireless microphones. The committee will advise the battery type for the microphones (hirer responsible for new batteries if needed).
10. Functions must always be conducted in an orderly manner without disturbance to surrounding residents. It is a legal obligation to reduce noise levels after 10:30pm.
11. The function must cease by 11:30pm and the hall vacated by midnight.
12. Halls are not provided with Council bins, therefore removal of all garbage is the responsibility of the hirer and is to be bagged and taken from the hall at the end of the event by the hirer. Council bins in the laneway are not to be used as these belong to the shops and offices.
13. The hirer is responsible for securely locking all doors and windows and ensuring that all lights and appliances are turned off. This includes all fans and air conditioners.
14. It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that there is no sale of alcohol during the function, and that alcohol is not served or made available to those under the legal drinking age.
15. Sleeping in the hall overnight is not permitted.
16. Smoking inside the hall is not permitted.
17. Any hall committee member or nominee shall be allowed entry to any function at any time for inspection purposes. That person or persons has the authority to take whatever action is deemed necessary if the Conditions of Hall Hire are being infringed in any way.
